AFTERCARE
Fading

Although the transparency of an integral print has a 400nm (wavelength) coating to protect it from UV light, it isn't enough if the image has been opened and not being displayed either with the positive side facing outwards or with the transparency at all, then it can't be effective. For long-term storage, framing is recommended for all integral films.

UV lacquers are ineffective products for protecting opened Polaroid integral films. Framing the Polaroids using glass or Plexiglas (both are also referred to as glazing) that contains some kind of UV filtration is recommended instead. Plexiglas has more shine to it and isn't as scratch-resistant as glass but most glass with UV filtration on the market darkens the image underneath it. The truth is, it's give or take; no 'perfect' solution has been made as of yet.

UF-3 & UF-5 Plexiglas' or Museum Glass® are recommended to protect all Polaroid integral films against fading. Also, framing should be considered a form of storage and the same care should be taken as mentioned in the Yellowing/Staining section.
